Trauma Study Group II: The Intimacies of Trauma Transmission--enactments, countertransference and technique
Group in English  Tuesday -1700 and Wednesday 0900-1230

INVITING YOU TO ATTEND AND HELP CREATE OUR TRAUMA STUDY GROUP,  NANCY R. GOODMAN

In our second IPA Trauma Study Group we will experience the intimacies of receiving traumatic affects
and imagery as they appear in clinical workand in responses to cultural traumas.  We together will learn
how we metabolize and symbolize the "too much" of overwhelming affects.  We are fortunate to have presenters
from Argentina (David Rosenfeld and Karina Soldati), from the United States (Arlene Kramer Richards) and from
Germany (Gertraud Schlesinger-Kipp, introduced by Paula Ellman).  Each will present for 45 minutes with 45 minutes
of discussion and free association within the group.. Trauma as it appears in response to societal terror and
violence and in Refugee situations as well as individual clinical material are presented.  The task of the group
will be to note the transfer and transmission of severe trauma as it appears in the treatment, in connection to
unconscious fantasies, and what we notice about counteraffects and enactments--even in our group.

DAVID ROSENFELD AND ARLENE KRAMER RICHARDS PRESENT ON TUESDAY
AND GERTRAUD SCHLESINGER-KIPP  AND KARINA SOLDATI PRESENT ON WEDNESDAY.

Hope to see you and work with you.  FACILITATOR, NANCY R. GOODMAN
