Rules

These set out the roles, rules and responsibilities of the members. They specify the limits and mechanisms for change and for maintenance of standards. They are developed from the IPA's Articles of Association, a legal document required by UK company law that sets out the IPA's purpose and its governance.

Procedural Code

This comprehensive set of policies, procedures,  guidance and operational frameworks guide the day-to-day action of members and staff. It is a living document and is regularly reviewed and updated. The Procedural Code is subordinate to the IPA Rules.

Confidentiality

The report of the IPA’s Confidentiality Committee, published in 2018, provides comprehensive guidance on matters pertaining to confidentiality for practising psychoanalysts.

Ethics Code

The IPA's Ethical Principles, Ethics Code and Implementing Procedures set out the basic ethical rules for the IPA’s Members and Constituent Organisations.

Anti-Bribery Policy

The UK Ministry of Justice has formulated six principles which it requires all trading and commercial organisations to follow, and our Regulator, the Charity Commission, has confirmed that our compliance with this is mandatory. The IPA has adopted this policy, based on the six principles.

Strategic Plan 2025 - 2029

IPA President Heribert Blass, Vice President Katy Bogliatto and Treasurer Adela Escardo have compiled a strategic plan with their overarching vision for the next four years, their aims and objectives, and indicators of success.  

Privacy Policy

The IPA takes privacy issues seriously and is committed to protecting information that it holds in its database about its members, IPA candidates, and non members. This policy explains what information the IPA has in its database about you, how that information is used, to whom it is disclosed and how it is stored and protected.
