IPA Webinar Series 2025
Staying alive in the academic world -
The importance of the Joseph Sandler Psychoanalytic Research Conference
Does psychoanalysis need to be present in the academic world?
Some say that the vitality of psychoanalytic thinking lies in the consulting room, while others argue it thrives when in dialogue with contemporary research. In this IPA Webinar — Staying Alive in the Academic World: The Importance of the Joseph Sandler Psychoanalytic Research Conference — we will explore how the encounter between psychoanalysis and academia can foster innovation, strengthen methodological rigor, and open new spaces for intergenerational and international exchange. Featuring Marianne Leuzinger-Bohleber, Clara Schejtman, and Rogério Lerner, this discussion promises to inspire and challenge our views on where psychoanalysis belongs.
