The Buenos Aires psychoanalytic Association (APdeBA) was established with the purpose of creating an institution to promote and develop psychoanalysis as a science, as a method of treatment and as a way of investigation of mental processes.
As a scientific organization, APdeBA maintains and stimulates its members with a high level of exchange and training, and at the same time provides opportunities for participation in multiple corporate activities, theoretical works, clinical workshops, discussion workshops, seminars specialising in psychoanalytic authors, courses of related knowledge (philosophy, film, painting art, music, theater, history), among many other activities.
Work areas and departments are committed to the study and research of specific topics in the institution. Their scientific meetings, weekly forums, seminars on topics and authors, and the annual symposium - central scientific activity of APdeBA - maintain a climate of intense and permanent theoretical and clinical exchange.
APdeBA is guided by a standing order to deepen its relationship with the culture of the time and the issues and problems that affect and interest our society. Its objective, in the instance, is to keep the concern of being open to new achievements of psychoanalysis and its articulation with other fields of knowledge.
