The Brazilian Psychoanalytic Society of Ribeirão Preto (SBPRP) is a non-profit society founded in 1993, and is recognised as a Component Society of the International Psychoanalytic Association (IPA).
The SBPRP's intention, among other objectives, is to encourage the study, development and dissemination of psychoanalysis (created by Sigmund Freud), and in promoting activities such as:
a) training new analysts, according to the standards required by the IPA;
b) run regular scientific meetings for members;
c) conduct scientific events aimed at professionals in related fields to psychoanalysis;
d) create and maintain a specialised library of psychoanalysis and on related topics;
e) arrange activities for the community such as "Cinema and Psychoanalysis," in collaboration with institutions and public projects;
