The Peruvian Society of Psychoanalysis (SPP) is a non-profit organisation and Component Society of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA), and was founded in 1980 by Doctor Saul Pena, Max Hernandez and Carlos Crisanto.
The SPP's main objectives are:
a) bring together psychoanalysts who develop their professional activities in Peru;
b) promote and contribute to the development and evolution of psychoanalysis in Peru;
c) ensure compliance with legal, ethical and scientific-linked guidelines in the practice of psychoanalysis;
d) promote scientific exchange with the IPA and its component organisations, as well as similar institutions;
e) foster the exchange of scientific, cultural and social cooperation between psychoanalysis and all those other disciplines related to man's problems;
f) organise, develop and participate actively in the training of future psychoanalysts in accordance with the provisions of the statute and the regulations of the IPA;
g) encourage the development of autonomous psychoanalytic organisations in accordance with the rules of the IPA.
